Matthias Bischof, a native of Hamburg, can look back on almost 20 years of professional experience working for communication consultancies and agency networks. In October 2008 he joined Johanssen + Kretschmer (J+K). In June 2009 he was appointed a member of the Management Board. He has been a managing partner til March 2019. Along with Heiko Kretschmer he upholds the company’s independent position in the market and in strategic consulting.

Based on the scholarly work of Professor Peter Szyszka, Matthias Bischof, together with Heiko Kretschmer, was in charge of the further development and introduction of J+K’s relational capital model – an approach to strategic stakeholder management, its evaluation and control.
His main professional focus in organisational consultancy is in the area of change management and change communication. He advises institutions, companies and corporations in the waste management, commerce as well as financial service, health and insurance sectors, among others, for instance in merger communication or change management during reorganisation processes and in the realignment of market strategies. “Especially during these fragile phases a company’s management of its relational capital and the accurate assessment, weighting and alignment of its stakeholder relations is of critical importance in order to ensure the success of changes.”
